This policy means that if you have an accident, fire or theft - you can claim to have your car fixed subject to any applicable policy excess.
Your insurance provider will also compensate damage or injury caused to third parties including drivers, passengers, pedestrians and property.
If you have an accident that was your fault, your insurance provider will only provide compensation to the third party involved including drivers, passengers, pedestrians and property. There is no cover for your own vehicle.
This policy also covers you if your car is stolen or is damaged due to fire.
Tip - Comprehensive cover is not necessarily more expensive, you should always get a quote on a comprehensive basis, and on occasion it could even be cheaper.
If you have an accident that was your fault, your insurance provider will only provide compensation to the third party involved including drivers, passengers, pedestrians and property. There is no cover for your own vehicle.
An excess is a payment that your insurance company will ask you to pay towards any claim made for your own vehicle damages.
The first part of your excess is your compulsory excess which will be set by your insurer.
The second part of your excess is known as your voluntary excess, this is set when you apply for your insurance policy. A higher voluntary excess can lower your premium, however it is worth remembering that in the case of an accident, you will have to pay this amount in full.
Breakdown Cover is an optional extra, this service is provided separate to your insurance policy. Our Breakdown Cover includes full cover throughout the Entire Island of Ireland & the Great Britain. Cover includes Home Start, Roadside Assistance, Punctures, Lost Keys, Fuel Shortages & Call Outs.

A no claims discount (NCD) is a reward for drivers who haven’t made a claim on their car insurance for a period of time. Some insurers will offer drivers the chance to protect their NCD if they build up several years’ worth. Please ask a member of the team for advice, additional premiums may apply.
The Driving Other Cars extension or DOC as it is more commonly known, is a policy benefit included in some car insurance policies. DOC allows The Policyholder Only to drive another person's car with their permission on a Third Party Only (TPO) basis whilst being covered on your their policy regardless if they have Comprehensive, Third Party Fire & Theft or Third Party Only Cover. However, a growing number of insurers don’t provide the DOC extension and we would always strongly recommend that you check the wording on your Certificate of Motor Insurance to ensure the cover is available. Most, if not all insurance companies will not provide the DOC cover for drivers under the age of 25.
Driving other cars was only ever intended to be used in an emergency, if you find yourself regularly driving another vehicle it is recommended that you request to be added as a named driver to that vehicle’s policy.
Please ask a member of the team to confirm if you require more clarification or if your policy/quotation includes this benefit.
